The client
Gestalt Groupe Financier is a full-service financial planning and investment firm based in Gatineau, Quebec. Their team of advisors manages portfolios for entrepreneurs, professionals, and retirees across the Outaouais region. Their challenge wasn't expertise — it was communicating that expertise digitally.
When they came to me, their online presence was an outdated WordPress template with stock photos that looked like every other financial advisor's site in Canada. It was actively undermining the credibility their team had built through years of in-person relationships.
The real problem
In financial services, trust is everything. People don't hand over their retirement savings to a firm whose website looks like it was built on a weekend. The existing site had no clear service structure, no team profiles, no educational content, and no reason for a prospect to believe Gestalt was different from the dozens of other advisors they could find on Google.
The deeper issue was a positioning problem. Gestalt's team includes specialists in tax optimization, estate planning, and corporate financial restructuring — high-value services most advisors can't offer. None of this was visible online.
In finance, your website isn't a brochure — it's a trust test. If it fails, the prospect never calls.
The approach
I structured the engagement around three goals: establish immediate visual credibility, make Gestalt's unique expertise obvious, and create a content engine that positions the team as thought leaders.
Visual identity & web design
I designed a premium, dark-palette site with clean typography and deliberate white space. Every design decision was filtered through one question: does this make the prospect feel like their money is safe here?
- Custom photography direction — professional portraits with consistent lighting and styling
- Service pages segmented by client type (entrepreneurs, professionals, retirees) so prospects see themselves immediately
- Interactive team grid with modal — click any advisor to see their credentials, specialties, and philosophy
- Educational investment guides for TFSA, RRSP, and corporate investment vehicles
Content strategy & SEO
I built a bilingual content strategy targeting high-intent local search terms: "financial planner Gatineau," "investment advisor Outaouais," and similar queries. Every page was built with full Schema.org markup (FinancialService, FAQPage, BreadcrumbList) for maximum search visibility.
Trust architecture
The site was designed with what I call a "trust stack" — layered credibility signals that build as the visitor scrolls:
- Professional first impression (design quality)
- Social proof (client count, years in business)
- Expertise signals (team credentials, specializations)
- Educational content (demonstrates competence without selling)
- Low-friction CTA (free consultation, no hard sell)
Results
The new gestaltfinance.com launched as a fully bilingual experience that positions Gestalt as the premium choice in the Outaouais financial advisory market. The site now serves as the foundation for all their client acquisition, with consultation requests coming through the integrated contact system.
Beyond the website, the content strategy and SEO work established Gestalt's visibility for dozens of high-value search terms in both English and French — a significant competitive advantage in a bilingual market where most firms only optimize for one language.
If your professional services firm needs a digital presence that matches its expertise, let's talk about what that could look like.
